THE Ministry of Health has announced that it will not renew contracts for more than 3,500 health workers employed under the Ministry of Health/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (MOH/CDC) Cooperative Agreement, following uncertainty surrounding United States foreign assistance to Zambia. In a letter addressed to all staff supported under the MOH/CDC agreement, Permanent Secretary for Donor Coordination, Dr George Sinyangwe, informed the workers that their contracts, which expire on September 30, 2025, will not be extended into the 2025/2026 financial year unless new funding commitments are secured.
