YESTERDAY, Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis launched the online voter pre-registration platform, which will allow citizens to register their details on the Commission’s system from the comfort of their homes. This is a commendable step because the world has gone digital, and Zambia should not lag behind. It is refreshing to see the country embrace more technology with each coming day, ECZ’s decision is timely. We live in an era where digital tools have transformed everything from banking to education, therefore it is only right that our democracy follows suit.
