THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has continued to release parliamentary results from Thursday’s general election, with the UPND maintaining the lead while opposition and independent candidates get their fair share of seats. However, a number of losing NRPUP parliamentary candidates have alleged that the UPND has influenced the manipulation of results. The highly contested Matero seat has finally been scooped by UPND’s Alex Sakala with 24,129 votes, beating NRPUP’s Patrick Salubusa who got 18,614.
