MINISTRY of Finance and National Planning permanent secretary Mukuli Chikuba says government can contract anyone to conduct independent audits in order to enhance its operations. And Bank of Zambia director economics Jonathan Chipili says Zambia’s specific events and circumstances such as appreciation of the kwacha is what is impacting reduced inflation. Government recently announced that it had completed tender processes for engagement of independent consultants for evaluation and audit of public domestic arrears, and six firms had successfully been awarded contracts.
