MINISTER of Finance and National Planning Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says the reason why government is proposing a supplementary budget is because creditors, out of their own goodwill, have asked that the external debt service be suspended for now. Explaining the supplementary budget in an interview, Dr Musokotwane said the UPND government has been committed to servicing all debt, pointing out that President Hakainde Hichilema’s credibility had encouraged the creditors to exercise lenience and give room to the government to redirect some resources to other needy areas. “Most of this money comes from, as I said, savings from debt service.
