SENIOR Inspector at Cotton Board of Zambia says government should consider including cotton farming on the Farmers Input Support Program-FISP. In an interview, Nyambe kwalombota said cotton farming has the potential to alleviate poverty in the country among small scale farmers. “Cotton is one of the crops that actually can alleviate poverty in the country and I think if there is any crop that government should try and promote as regards poverty alleviation, I think cotton is one of the most important crops that should be undertaken, apart from maize which government promotes through FISP, I think basically for food security.
