DEVELOPMENT Bank of Zambia (DBZ) Board Chairperson Noel Nkhoma says the Bank has no capacity to pay employees’ end of year bonuses. According to sources, Nkhoma had allegedly made an earlier commitment to honour deserving employees with performance bonuses in amounts totalling about K4 million. “I think the proposal came from the board. So, the issue is that the employees feel that the board is backtracking from its commitment. There is concern that the change of position may demotivate employees, especially those who deserve recognition. When the board chair was approached, he claimed that he never made such a commitment.
