SMALL and Medium Enterprise Development Minister Elias Mubanga says his ministry wants to focus on empowering small scale farmers in a bid to enhance maize production in the country. And Mubanga has advised citizens to secure land and venture into farming, especially maize production. In an interview, last Wednesday, Mubanga said the $12 million concessional loan which government recently secured from the United Arab Emirates would be channeled to small scale farmers. “This time around, my ministry wants to focus on agricultural activities.
