FORMER Zesco board chairperson Mbita Chitala says the country would have been spared the confusion of Zesco paying it’s debt to Exim Bank of China without consulting government if the Finance Minister did not take Zambia’s total Chinese debt to the Paris Club. On Friday, Secretary to the Treasury, Felix Nkulukusa, said Zesco did not erroneously pay Exim Bank of China US$80 million, as it was suggested by social media reports.
