The Lusaka High Court has sentenced a 37-year-old farmer, Zhinga Kanguya, of Mangango village in Kaoma district, to 20 years imprisonment with hard labour for having sex with his biological daughter.

Kanguya impregnated his biological daughter, but the child died.

And the Lusaka High Court has sentenced a 68-year-old garden man of Bauleni compound to 15 years imprisonment, for raping a 16 year old girl.

In this matter, James Zulu was found guilty of raping a girl on June 6, 2016, by the Surbodinate court and appealed against his conviction.

But High Court judge, Gertrude Chawatama confirmed the sentence after a state advocate supported the conviction.

The victim said in her testimony that after the convict gave her a handshake on her way from school, she became unconscious.

She said that when she regained her conscious, she discovered that she was lying on Zulu’s bed, naked.

She had further said that she discovered that she was bleeding from her private parts and saw the convict removing a condom from his private parts who later warned her not to tell anyone.
