Ziger Trading Limited has sued Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo in the Lusaka High Court for allegedly failing to pay over K140,000 for the supply and printing services rendered to him at his own request and instance.
Ziger Trading Limited is claiming immediate payment of K147,800 owed to the company, damages, interest, among other claims.
In a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court principal registry, Tuesday, Ziger Trading Limited explained that it was in the business of printing and that it was Lusambo’s service provider.
It stated that on or before February 22, this year, Lusambo of Hybrid Road, Chamba Valley, engaged them for purposes of supply and printing of materials at an agreed price of K147,800 for both supply and printing.
Ziger Trading added that Lusambo was supposed to pay for the services on February 22, 2019 when it fell due.
The company, however, stated that Lusambo had been engaged on diverse occasions with the view of settling the matter but had not been forthcoming.
“The plaintiff will show at trial that it has made several demands by itself and through its lawyer to Lusambo but the defendant has been unyielding to the demands,” read the statement of claim.
Ziger Trading further stated that Lusambo had made several undertakings to pay the debt in question but had never made good any of his promises to pay.
“Particulars of loss and damage; cost of the material that was supplied to Lusambo which Ziger Trading initially got on credit at K110,000 and hoped to pay for after Lusambo pays for the supply and service provided to him,” read the statement.
It stated that as a consequence of Lusambo’s action, the company had suffered damage and loss and now claims an order for immediate payment of K147,800, damages and interest, any other relief the court may deem fit and legal costs.
