THE Ministry of Communications and Transport has told the Lusaka High Court that the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act does not threaten the rights to protection against deprivation of property, privacy, protection of the law, freedom of conscience, the freedom of expression and the freedom of the press. And the Ministry has submitted that the Rights in the Constitution are not absolute. This is a matter in which five NGOs have petitioned the Lusaka High Court for a declaration that various provisions of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act were unconstitutional and needed to be struck off from the statute books.
