ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha has told the Constitutional Court that President Hakainde Hichilema acted in line with the Constitution when he removed former High Court judge Joshua Banda from his office. Kabesha has submitted that judge Banda is not entitled to any reliefs sought in the matter, stating that during cross-examination, the former High Court Judge agreed having received money from a complainant for personal use. Judge Banda sued the State last year, seeking an interim order to stay the President’s decision to remove him from the office of Judge of the High Court.
