INSPECTOR General of Police Graphael Musamba has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court in a matter in which Socialist Party leader Dr Fred M’membe has lodged a complaint against him for defamation of character. Musamba appeared before Magistrate Chrispin Hampungani and informed the court that he missed the last session because his counsel advised him not to appear. Magistrate Hampungani, however, cautioned him to appear before him on September 15, 2023, or send someone to represent him. Meanwhile, Dr M’membe says no one is above the law or should have the right to defame others with impunity.
