MATERO Local Court Magistrate Harriet Mulenga has cautioned 35-year-old Peter Chibwe of Kasupe area against showing excessive affection toward his now former wife, noting that his jealousy had driven them apart. In this case, 26-year-old Janet Phiri dragged Chibwe to court, alleging that he threatened to kill her and also disposed of a short dress he claimed attracted other males. The court also heard that when Chibwe saw Phiri’s short dress, which she had packed away, he insisted that it be removed from the house. He subsequently removed it from the house and referred to it as “prostitute clothes”, which escalated the conflict.
