LAWYER Joseph Chirwa has petitioned the Constitutional Court for permission to appear as amicus curiae (friend of the court) in the ongoing case where the Tonse Alliance has resurrected former president Edgar Lungu’s eligibility matter. The case, spearheaded by Sean Tembo in his capacity as Tonse Alliance spokesperson, names the Attorney General as the respondent. Tembo argues that the Constitutional Court’s prior ruling on Lungu’s eligibility, made before the formal submission of nomination papers, violated Article 52(4) of the Constitution.
