THE State has maintained its position that over 1,800 Mopane logs and various other assets belonging to Chinese company Sena Plus Investments Limited should be forfeited, arguing they constitute tainted property. In an application before the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division, Director of Public Prosecutions Gilbert Phiri is seeking a non-conviction-based forfeiture of assets allegedly linked to unlawful activity. These include 1,898 Mopane logs, 152 Mukwa logs, 19 Mupapa logs, 40 planks, a forklift (serial number TS 2510002-2016), four wood misers, two trucks and trailers (registration numbers ARC 4827 and ARC 6223 ZMB; AAA 048 SF), and a wheel loader, among other items.
