ZAMBIA Police Service spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has requested the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court to settle outside court a matter in which he was allegedly swindled out of K150,000 in a failed cattle purchase. In this case, 36-year-old Cryford Chuuba is facing one count of obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Section 309 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. According to the charge, between December 3 and December 8, 2024, in Lusaka District, Chuuba, acting with unknown accomplices, allegedly obtained K159,550 cash from Hamoonga by falsely claiming he had 73 cattle for sale when, in fact, he did not.
