Zambia finally kicked off their 2018 CHAN final leg qualifier training camp in Ndola on Tuesday after a two-day delay.
Chipolopolo have been marooned in Lusaka since they arrived from South Africa on Sunday night where they drew 2-2 with Bafana Bafana on Saturday in a 2018 CHAN final round, first leg qualifier in
East London.
The team trained on Tuesday afternoon at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium where the August 19 match will be played.
“This is our first session this week,we had some problems in Lusaka when we arrived. We did not know whether we would be here or Lusaka,” Nyirenda said.
“The information came in late that we had to proceed to Ndola.
“We wanted to start off at 15h00 on Monday but we could not. Everyone is OK and we hope for the best.”
But missing from day one training was Power Dynamos striker Alex Ngonga who has yet to report after missing the first leg draw to prepare for his wedding.
“Everyone is here but we still awaiting Mr Alex Ngonga but the team manager is still communicating with the people at Power Dynamos,” Nyirenda said.
Ngonga is unlikely to join the team for Wednesday training as Power have a crucial league match against Buildcon at home in Kitwe on the same date.
