THE Zambian athletics team has returned home with a total of three medals from the 2024 African Athletics Championships held in Douala, Cameroon. The medals, all won in the 400m events, mark a significant achievement for Zambia at the continental stage. Quincy Malekani led the charge for the women’s team, securing Zambia’s first silver medal in the women’s 400m event. Her performance was complemented by the women’s 4x400m relay team, consisting of herself, Rhoda Njobvu, Niddy Mingilish, and Emeldah Kapunjila.
