MINISTER of Sports, Youth and Arts, Elvis Nkandu, has issued a stern warning to sports federation leaders against altering constitutions to prolong their tenure in office. He has advised leaders to prepare to step down rather than manipulate the rules to maintain power. Nkandu emphasised that government would withdraw funding from federations that habitually change their constitutions to block others from contesting in elections. Speaking during the 2025 National Sports Federation Governance Forum, Friday, Nkandu directed federations to submit their constitutions to the National Sports Council of Zambia to prevent tampering and ensure compliance with governance standards.
