Zambia will tomorrow host country the 2017 Beijing TV Dramas & Movies Season in Africa at Radisson Blu Hotel.

According to Top Star public relations officer Jabulani Banda, StarTimes of China in partnership with the Chinese government have been hosting a TV Dramas and Movies Season in Africa for the past four years.

Banda said during this event, they have screened a series of Chinese films and TV Dramas to African audiences in a series of countries such as Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Nigeria.

This event is part of the Sino-Africa cultural exchange programmes.

“This year Zambia is the host country for the 2017 Beijing TV Dramas & Movies Season in Africa. The event will be held on Monday 31 July 2017 at Radisson Blu Hotel at 10:00hrs. The Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services will officiate at the programme and we have invited the ZNBC DG to also make remarks at the event,” said Banda.

“A delegation from China will also be present. These are four officials from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. They are accompanied by the StarTimes Group Vice President. On the afternoon of Monday 31 July this delegation will pay a courtesy call to ZNBC DG at Mass Media and hope to visit the EQUIPMENT ROOM – just to familiarise themselves with the works being done under the digital migration project.”
