Police spokesperson Esther Katongo has disclosed that two people were seriously injured after a UPND campaign team motor vehicle was on Tuesday involved in an accident in Mansa District.
Katongo named those injured as James Kandele, 44, of Chifunabuli District and Paul Chibanda, adding that the two are admitted to Samfya District Hospital.
“There was a serious injury road traffic accident, which occurred on 9th April, 2019, at about 18:40 hours along Musaila junction to Ndoba about 4Km north of Musaila in Mansa. Involved was a UPND campaign team motor vehicle Toyota Hilux registration number ALZ 2710 driven by Brave Nsamba, aged 37 years, of Kabwata Site and Service in Lusaka,” narrated Katongo.
“Also involved was a rider identified as James Kandela, aged 44 years, of Village Mundubi, Chief Chitembo of Chifunabuli District who sustained chest pains, crushed left fore-finger, deep open wounds and also involved was a pillion identified as Paul Chibanda of unknown age, who sustained serious injuries and he is unconscious. Both are admitted to Samfya District Hospital. It is not yet established how the accident happened and investigations have been instituted. The motor vehicle involved in the accident has been impounded.”
