Nudge Academy, through the Global Impact Challenge, called for nominations to the first ever Mary Chirwa Courageous Leadership Awards slated for October 22, 2019 at the Hague Peace Palace in the Netherlands.
In June last year, Nudge introduced the Mary Chirwa Award in honour of Zambia’s Director General of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), a government agency responsible for regulating financial crimes in recognition of her proven courageous leadership.
Chirwa was earlier on invited as guest of honour at the 2018 Nudge Global Impact Awards, where she wowed the institution with her brave dedication to the fight against corruption, money laundering and terrorism financing in Zambia under very difficult circumstances.
And this year, the academy seeks to award an individual who has shown integrity and fearlessness and acted on, or initiated a movement, to bravely face a challenge related to the achievement of one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to a call for applications guide posted on the Nudge Academy website, the following would be granted to the 2019 Mary Chirwa Award laureate: a cheque of US$5,000 that should be used to fund a cause related to the field the awardee is recognised for; and recognition from the Mary Chirwa Award Committee.
To be considered for the Mary Chirwa honour, applicants are required to have a proven record of courageous leadership in 2018/2019, in a field related to one or more of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)s; A clear aspiration to make the world a better place; and must not be a celebrity or a well-known public figure.

This is good for women of high class in education n in positions in society. We need to also look at the woman from the low class they need recognition also. We have myself who is a union leader pushed around taken to court n all kinds of humiliation. We need someone to look into this issue fast. If you need to know more call me on this line 0979 149953
