THE University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers’ Union (UNZALARU) says the decision by government to fire Dr Brian Sampa is unreasonable and ill-timed. On Monday, the Ministry of Health fired Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) president Dr Sampa for allegedly absconding from work for more than 10 days. “I wish to inform you that the Civil Service Commission, acting in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the President, has directed that You, Dr Brian Chota Sampa, Junior Resident Medical Officer (J2) at Chitokoloki Mission Hospital, North Western Province, be dismissed from the Civil Service with effect from a current date for absenting yourself from duty for more than 10 consecutive working days,” read the Ministry of Health...
