KANTANSHI PF member of parliament Anthony Mumba says no law should be enacted to compel Ministers not to conduct businesses, arguing that this will discourage entrepreneurship. Mumba however, says it will only be questionable if an individual starts doing business after becoming a Minister. Former higher education minister Dr Brian Mushimba recently posted on Twitter that people should choose between working for government and doing business, stressing that it was a serious conflict of interest for officials to conduct private business with the government they serve. And in an interview, Mumba said senior public servants must only declare interest in order to avoid awarding themselves government contracts. “The problem is if we create a law then we are disadvantaging entrepreneurship....
