VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango says money will be coming into the country and things will get better.

Speaking during her campaign tour in Kabwata, Vice-President Nalumango said the UPND government was focused on improving the living conditions of citizens.

She said the UPND was confident of scooping the Kabwata seat because the UPND government was implementing good policies.

“Every resident of Kabwata is aware of the good policies that this government is making. One of the policies is free education. At the end of the day, my message to the people of Kabwata, vote for UPND, vote for Tayengwa, who is standing here on behalf of UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema. Money is coming in this country, you have no idea, even boarding fees for secondary schools, Bally will pay. So do you agree that Bally will fix it? This is the beginning of it, things are getting better and they will be better. It is not about Hakainde or Nalumango, it is about service to the people, including small businesses developing SMEs. So this is the message that I have for today. We will continue to campaign, we believe that we are winning, who can vote to go and pay for school?” Vice-President Nalumango wondered.

“There are many challenges indeed including the markets themselves because I have gone round the markets from yesterday to today and you can see that there is need for improvement of our selling places, where we buy food from. Infrastructure in general is crying. I know now there are many challenges in our country but it will be important to remember that there is no magic to improving, it is to be focused and gradually take money to where it is needed. Hakainde is focused to ensure that infrastructure like the market is improved, so that nobody runs to the street, to run with their katundu. We will not chase people anyhow, we will send them to the markets. We have just started, five months, no paying for school we have already started.”

She said anyone engaging in political violence should be deemed as a criminal, regardless of their political affiliation.

“I think we can tell the difference even as we go round, yourselves the media must be able to interpret that for once, we can have a violence free campaign. While we say this, it is not what other people maybe used to say. When violence is perpetuated by your own party, you hide them. This time there is no hiding any criminality, any violent person. That is why you are going to see the true colours of UPND. We were accused of being violent, it is because of responding to violent people. Today there is no attack on anyone by this party. If anyone of us does that, we consider him a criminal and we don’t want to be partial in the manner that we treat crime,” said Vice-President Nalumango.

“You commit a crime you are called a criminal. In this new dawn government under President Hakainde Hichilema, because everybody is under the law, therefore, we are seeing peace because there is no one who is pushing for violence behind the back. It is a peaceful Zambia. I think Zambians have seen. Anybody who commits a crime is a criminal, you don’t have to hide in being a cadre or you get things corruptly and you want to hide in the name of being a Minister or indeed a tribe, no! Every single person is treated equally. Look at the peace, I have gone round, I have not even heard that PF is being beaten here, I am sure they are also going round.”
