THE Constitutional Court has rejected Bowman Lusambo and Joseph Malanji’s application to stay ECZ’s decision to reject their Kabushi and Kwacha nominations, respectively. The ConCourt, however, says it will proceed to hear their case. The duo has dragged ECZ to the ConCourt over its decision to reject their nominations. The duo, which has also cited the Attorney General as respondent, wants an order that ECZ’s decision dated August 24 is illegal, null and void and an order that they are eligible to contest the September 15 by-elections. Lusambo and Malanji also want an order that the Electoral Commission of Zambia has no jurisdiction to interpret any clauses in the Constitution.
