KWACHA Independent aspiring candidate Lawrence Kasonde says he withdrew from the race because ACC interrogations were eating into campaign time, among other reasons. In a letter addressed to the chief electoral officer, Kasonde cited the restriction of campaigns due to the continued presence of the vice-president and the President as another reason for his withdrawal. “Pursuant to Article 52 (6) of the Constitution of Zambia, I have resigned and withdrawn my candidature from the forthcoming Kwacha Constituency by-election scheduled for the 15th September, 2022 for the following reasons: 1.
