MINISTRY of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Mambo Hamaundu says there is nothing political about government’s decision to terminate 197 feeder road contracts, adding that they will only sign those they can afford. Government recently terminated 197 feeder road contracts across the country. In a letter dated November 30, 2022, Hamaundu directed town clerks and town councils in the affected areas to ensure that the affected contractors stopped working. “This serves to inform you that the ministry has terminated 197 Feeder Roads contracts across the country in line with clauses 59.4, 60.2 and 71.1 of the signed contract.
