DEFENCE minister Ambrose Lufuma says contrary to his predecessor Davies Chama’s assertions, Gulfstream arrests haven’t caused those who are currently in the procurement committee to fear discharging their duties. And Lufuma says there is no need for a commission of inquiry into defence contracts because the new dawn government is doing the necessary clean-ups. This week, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) announced the arrest of former Army Secretary at Ministry of Defence Evaristo Sakala for corrupt practices involving US$400 million in relation to the procurement of the Gulfstream G650 Presidential Jet bringing the total number of people arrested so far in this case to six.
