MEALIE Meal shortages have persisted in Lusaka, with most leading chain stores having zero or very limited stock of the commodity. Meanwhile, confusion erupted in Chingola’s Chiwempala area yesterday as some youths ran amok over mealie meal and stoned some police officers during the scuffle. A check by Diggers reporters in some Shoprite, Cheers, PicknPay stores and Food Lovers Market in Lusaka found that almost all the stores had little to no mealie meal in stock.
