NGOCC Chairperson Grace Sinkamba says the women’s movement will first engage government to seek compensation for the abduction victims, and will only turn to the courts if that doesn’t work out. Last Friday, Sinkamba announced that the women’s movement had instructed its lawyers to commence legal action against the state to demand compensation for the 13 abduction victims. She argued that the state had abdicated its responsibility to ensure the safety of the girls.
