THE Department of Immigration at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport last week Thursday denied a Malawian man, his wife and his stepchildren exit to the US in a suspected case of child trafficking. In a statement, Tuesday, Department Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka disclosed that the family entered Zambia on September 29, 2023 through the Mwami/Mchinji border but were intercepted at KKIA as their decision to avoid departing from the Malawian airport raised suspicions. “The Department of Immigration at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on October 5, 2023, denied a 37 year old Malawian national Chicco Lleon Mbewe, his 31-year-old Malawian wife Gentille Giramata, and his stepchildren aged 11, eight, and five, together with a 30 year old female Rwandese, Jolie Niyonsenga,...
