THREE illegal miners who were trapped underground after the earth collapsed on them while conducting mining activities at Baluba mine pit in Luanshya yesterday have been retrieved. Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba said the three illegal miners accessed the mine through a disused vent. One was retrieved earlier in the day while the remaining miners were rescued around 18:00 hours. “This morning, we received a distress call from a disused Baluba Mine Pit situated in Luanshya Copper Mine, Luanshya.
