THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) says it has recorded a 44.6 percent increase in marriages in the second quarter of 2024, with 1,165 registered compared to 806 during the same period in 2023. In a statement, Friday, LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager Nyambe Bulumba said the council projected to register 5,000 marriages by the end of 2024. “One thousand, one hundred and sixty-five (1,165) marriages have been registered and legalised by the Lusaka City Council (LCC) in the second quarter of 2024. This figure comprises 1,082 ordinary marriages and 83 express marriages conducted.
