HONOURABLE Cornelius Mweetwa, the Spokesperson for the ruling UPND says his party cannot sanction members who have been implicated in the Sugilite scandal because they are innocent until proven guilty. This is in connection with the arrest of UPND member of parliament for Nchanga, UPND Luapula Province Chairman, the party’s Luapula Province Youth Chairperson, Luapula Province Youth Secretary and another youth leader. These five, along with 14 other citizens are accused of mining 23 tonnes of Sugilite Mineral Ore without a licence and moving it from Chembe to Kapiri Mponshi in Central Province.
