IT is common for politicians to claim that they have been misquoted whenever a statement they make gets a backlash from members of the public. Even when what was said is on camera, they will try to create interpretations which did not accompany their earlier statement, so that they get away with it and pacify the situation. A few days ago, former president Edgar Lungu, who no longer has control of ZNBC, which he ardently abused while in power, featured on a social media interview talking about his plans for Zambia if re-elected.
