NEWS from the energy sector suggests that Agro Fuel has decided to withhold its diesel stock because the company feels that the pump price dictated by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) is too low. Since this is the company that was single-sourced by government to supply fuel to the nation using the TAZAMA pipeline, one would expect that it was given an obligation to ensure that diesel was readily available on the Zambian market. However, it appears that Agro Fuel has a stronger position in whatever agreement it made with government over the supply of fuel.
