DUE to backlash on his statement regarding the conflict of interest scandal at the Ministry of Health, Honourable Elijah Muchima is inevitably attempting to distance himself from his words. We do understand that when politicians speak to us journalists, they normally manifest a condescending attitude. We, the low ranking members of noble professions, are usually looked down on as uneducated, poor and easy to intimidate. A dismissive attitude leads to our political leaders saying things which they have not thought through. It’s only when the headline hits the streets and internet the following day that they jump and start condemning the journalist, claiming falsehood.
