WHAT happened at the Freedom Statue during commemoration of the Zambia Defence Force Day was very sad. Seeing the Commander-In-Chief of the armed forces running out of energy to stand, and going down in full view of his troops who are showing off heavy artillery was a very touching scene which no well-meaning citizen can rejoice in. It becomes very unfortunate when a Head of State is seen in such a state by his people, let alone his soldiers. We maintain that Mr Lungu is a bad leader, but he is the President of the country and his office deserves to be accorded the dignity worthy of a Head of State.
