THE Auditor General’s office has disclosed that a comprehensive audit is underway regarding the procurement and construction of the FTJ University in Mansa.
In a statement, Tuesday, Auditor General’s Office Head of Public Relations Ellen Chikale revealed that an audit was also being conducted on the Lusaka City Decongestion Project; construction of Petauke General Hospital, Lusaka Specialised Hospital; Cancer Treatment Centres Project; Smart Zambia Phase II (Zambia Communication Towers project); Solar milling plants; and procurement of the chancery in Ankara, Turkey, among others.
She stated that the nation would be informed of the audit findings through the Report of the Auditor General once all the audit processes had been completed.
“The Auditor General, Dr. Dick Chellah Sichembe, has noted the various concerns in the Media over the construction of the FTJ University. Dr. Sichembe wishes to inform the nation that the approved 2022 Audit Plan being implemented is looking at various projects, programmes and activities pertaining to public institutions. Specifically, for infrastructure, a comprehensive audit is underway. This audit includes the procurement and construction of FTJ University in Mansa; road infrastructure: Lusaka City Decongestion Project; construction of Petauke General Hospital, Lusaka Specialised Hospital; Cancer Treatment Centres Project; Smart Zambia Phase II (Zambia Communication Towers project); Solar milling plants; and procurement of the chancery in Ankara, Turkey among others,” stated Chikale.
“The nation will be informed of the audit findings through the Report of the Auditor General once all the audit processes have been completed in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Act No. 2 of 2016, the Public Audit Act No. 13 of 1994 and the Public Finance Management Act No. 1 of 2018 and International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs). Dr. Sichembe said his Office remains committed to ensuring that all public resources are audited for the benefit of the citizenry.”
