UNIVERSITY Teaching Hospital Cancer Diseases Centre Senior Superintendent Susan Msadabwe says the centre has about 800 cancer patients waiting to be evacuated for treatment. Speaking when Ministry of Health PS for Technical Services Dr Kennedy Lishimpi conducted a spot check at the Cancer Diseases Hospital, Tuesday, Msadabwe said the centre was only evacuating about 20 cancer patients at a given time. “We still have a huge backlog because only a certain number of patients can go at a time. So, our backlog is still in the rounds of 800 patients. Those are still waiting to receive therapy.
