THE National Action for Quality Education (NAQEZ) has welcomed the intention by government to introduce licensure examinations for teachers. On Thursday, Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa announced that Cabinet had approved a Bill to introduce licensure examinations for teachers. Commenting on that in an interview, Friday, NAQEZ Executive Director Aaron Chansa said the move would be a minimum mechanism to know if teachers would be able to deliver, as currently there were mushrooming colleges and universities that were producing half-baked teachers.
