PRESIDENT Lazarus Chakwera has conceded defeat to President-elect Peter Mutharika in the September 16, 2025, general elections. Dr Chakwera has also congratulated the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader on winning Malawi’s presidential election. In a National Address from Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe, Wednesday, Dr Chakwera thanked Malawians for entrusting him with the presidency.
