PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says he played a critical role in the criminal investigation involving former Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji, who is currently serving a prison sentence for abuse of office. The Head of State says he was personally involved in the mobilisation of witnesses from foreign countries who testified against the convict. Speaking when he met UPND officials in Lusaka on Sunday, President Hichilema said he personally called the presidents of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Turkey, asking them to help bring back the two helicopters which he says Malanji hid abroad, and further asked them to help in securing witnesses.
