A woman of Chamba Valley has told the Chelstone Local Court that her husband dragged her naked from their bedroom in full view of their children and neighbors before beating her for refusing to wake up and warm vimbombo (chicken feet) after he came home drunk late at night. This was heard in a case in which 30-year-old Ireen Phiri sued her husband, 40-year-old builder Joseph Sakala, for divorce, citing physical abuse, excessive drinking, infidelity, and repeated insults in front of their children.
