THIRTEEN cows have died in Choma after being struck by lightning on Sunday, March 8. The incident was reported to the police on Monday, March 9, at 12:25 hours by the owner of the animals, 47-year-old Chrispine Ndeleki. Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Moono Namalongo confirmed the incident. “Mr Chrispine Ndeleki, aged 47, of Sicheelo Village, Chief Simwatachela, Zimba District, reported that 13 heads of cattle of assorted colours, branded 2T2B, died after being struck by lightning during heavy rainfall.
