A YOUTH-led enterprise has been awarded a CDF construction contract to build a mothers’ shelter at Mwandi Mission Hospital at a cost of K1,895,998.19. Mwandi Mission Hospital is managed by the UCZ and was first established as a dispensary on November 4, 1885, by the Paris Evangelical Mission led by François Coillard. Originally built with poles and mud, it was later rebuilt and completed in 1928, initially set to treat leprosy and syphilis under Dr Roderich de Prosch, a Swiss national and the first medical officer.
