WITH the high cost of surgical and medical expenses and fees, many Zambians find it difficult to receive medical attention for complex conditions such as heart diseases. But through MEDEVAC, the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with leading Czechia public hospitals, the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), the National Heart Hospital and Lewanika General Hospital in Mongu, have attended to and operated on over 100 patients since 2023 at no cost to the patients. The surgeries on Zambian patients, both young and old include and are not limited to fields of Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialization, Traumatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery.
